A SPICE simulation running on a single thread or single core can take hours, days or weeks to complete. Re-writing a SPICE tool to harness multi-threaded or multi-core architecture makes a lot of sense because it directly saves engineering and product development time.

SPICE is a wonderful tool for transistor-level circuit designers to predict speed, timing and power of their sensitive designs across Process, Voltage and Temperature regions or corners.
